On November 28, one day prior to the release of twentieth studio album DINOSAUR, B’z will perform on NTV’s Best Artist 2017. It is unknown which song they will perform as of the initial announcement. Other popular Japanese acts such as Arashi and AKB48 will be taking the stage the same night.

Additionally, the title song from the album, “Dinosaur”, will also be used as the theme to the local Japanese release of disaster film Geostorm when it opens in the country on January 19, 2018.

Today we are making available a lyric video for the B’z cover of “This Love” originally by Maroon 5. The song has been rewritten in Japanese around a similar theme whilst incorporating some of the original’s lyrics with a guitar solo added. This is also the first time this version of the song has been translated and subtitled in English!

The cover was originally, and only, made available in The Complete B’z on the Japanese iTunes. The history of the release was recently the subject of an article that can be viewed here. As noted in our previous write-up, this version of the song has not been available for purchase for several years now.

A long-awaited update on the official website has given us our first glimpse at B’z LIVE-GYM 2017-2018 “LIVE DINOSAUR” in the form of the tour’s logo. The tour kicks off in Hokkaido on December 14 and will span eighteen total shows. The finale will come at Kyocera Dome Osaka in mid February over three nights and may be the subject to filming for their next home video. Notably, this is their first tour since B’z LIVE-GYM ’91~’92 “IN THE LIFE” to span two years and the first to take place in winter since the comparably lengthy B’z LIVE-GYM 2011 -C’mon-.

The titular album, DINOSAUR, is due out in two weeks on November 29, 2017 and can be pre-ordered internationally from the retailers below:

Next month, B’z will release their long-anticipated twentieth studio album: DINOSAUR. The thirteen-track album features both A-sides from this year’s number-one single “Seimei/Still Alive” alongside the 7-Eleven commercial tie-in “CHAMP“—all three of which were performed as part of B’z SHOWCASE 2017 -B’z In Your Town-.

Today, the band have finalized the track listing for the album with an announcement on the official website:

The video component features the band’s full performance from ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2017, with a setlist featuring perennial favorites such as “ultra soul” and “Ichibu to Zenbu“, alongside new single “Still Alive” and rarities such as 2011’s “Sayonara Kizu Darake no Hibi yo“.

In the coming weeks, fans can expect samples of the album’s tracks and likely video additions as well. With 2015’s release of preceding studio album EPIC DAY, the band released numerous short promotional music videos leading up to its release, including for opener “Las Vegas” as shown below:

As previously announced at the end of July, the first ever B’z Loud-Gym—a monthly fan-centric meetup at numerous clubs and bars around Japan—will continue meeting monthly at various venues around Japan. At each gathering, specially-tailored live footage will be showcased for attendees. The theme for the second gathering will be “IN YOUR TOWN NIGHT”, but first we have details on the September event that took place on September 21.

Second Event: “IN YOUR TOWN NIGHT”

The second event scheduled for October and given the moniker “IN YOUR TOWN NIGHT” seems like it will live up to the distinction. There, audio from this year’s B’z SHOWCASE 2017 -B’z In Your Town- will be played for attendees. Specifically, the audio recorded at the July 26 show at the Biwako Concert Hall in Shiga Prefecture will be presented. This may bode well for those hoping for the tour to receive the home video treatment in the future and possibly may signal some inclusion as bonus footage on a future release, such as the upcoming studio album DINOSAUR.
