B’z have this week announced their online concert event 「B’z SHOWCASE 2020 -5 ERAS 8820-」. This will be the first full online event to take place without an audience for the band. As indicated by the title, the online concert event will be a series of 5 concerts — each dedicated to one of 5 eras of B’z past career. To make that happen, B’z has teamed up with several Japanese streaming services such as “pia live stream”, “LINE live” and “GYAO!”. A “ticket” to view the concerts costs 3500 Japanese Yen.

A special package for the concerts is available to B’z PARTY fanclub members. Before each show, a special interview with the band will be streamed.

In a message to fans that has been posted on the website, B’z share some thoughts on the event. Originally, the SHOWCASE was planned to be an actual concert taking place at the newly opened Zepp Haneda in Tokyo. However, given the current situation, this was not possible. They also promised that the set list for each show will be entirely different. Tak indicated that he now has to practice 80 songs — quite a challenge. Each concert will feature songs specific to that era.

On the supporting staff, B’z have resorted to sticking with previous Japanese support members — making this the first time in a while that B’z has performed with all Japanese support members.

Where can I get a ticket for the online events?
i dont speak japanese but would be great to buy one and watch it online then

    thanks…

    1. Tobias says:

The tickets can be bought on Japanese ticket websites. Unfortunately they have a verification system which requires you to have a Japanese phone number. Therefore it is quite impossible to get a ticket from overseas, unless you know somebody in Japan, who can help you out. 🙁

  2. Ben says:

i think only japanese people can get a ticket….

    cheers,
    Ben

    1. Tobias says:

Hi! You can also get a ticket if you have a friend in Japan who has a Japanese phone number. 🙂 Otherwise, it is definitely hard to get for sure.

  3. Giampaolo says:

Hi, is there any of the platform in the list that can be freely accessed From Europe (
    without VPN I mean) ?
    Thanks

    1. Tobias says:

Hi! I think the biggest challenge here is to buy tickets. This typically requires you to have a Japanese phone number for verification. (At least that’s how it was for pia). I am also not sure whether it is possible to watch it from Europe without a VPN.

  4. Ak says:

Thanks for the news as always! Love the site. Btw, why not keep the Twitter account active?

Any setlist reports for the first night?

    1. Tobias says:

Thanks! I try my best to keep the website and Twitter up-to-date. Unfortunately I have a full time job and a life outside of B’z that also requires a lot of my attention. 🙂

Yeah, there is a set list available. I want to do a write-up as soon as possible.

  5. Yoko says:

I asked my friend living in Japan to help to verify my number. BUT none of tickets shops (Ticket pure etc) don’t accept credit cards issued oversea!! That’s rubbish!! I’m a big fan of B’z since 1989 then can’t get tickets. Sad..

    1. Tobias says:

Strange times, indeed! Even if you were able to get a ticket, then you would need a VPN connection through Japan to be able to view it… Honestly, they could have done it much better to make it available for the whole world to see.

    2. Yoko says:

I’ve managed to get a ticket via https://zaiko.io/event/330060. This company accepted an overseas card.
However, VPN connection is needed…. how complicated…

  6. jon says:

i wish they would release a DVD from these concerts, that would be amazing!!

  7. 1783-3150 says:

I’m in the US, and I got the ticket thru Zaiko. I didn’t have any problem purchasing the tickets or watching the show! It was awesome!!!
Zaiko has English website, and offers several payment options. To use credit cards issued outside of Japan, they take extra fee. Same with paypal. Since tickets are non-refundable, I recommend you to run their streaming test video. It said on FAQ that the service is unavailable in certain countries (such and mainland China and Indonesia, etc), but if you can watch the test video without any problems, you are mostlikely able to watch the show.

It worked for me, but I cannot guarantee it’d work for everyone else… But I assume at least in the US it works…??
(It worked for me without VPN or Japanese phone number/ address/ credit card. )
