“Ichibu to Zenbu/DIVE” Announced!
The other single to be featured on the double A-side, along with the previously announced “DIVE,” is a new song titled “Ichibu to Zenbu” (イチブトゼンブ). The song will serve as the theme to Yamashita Tomohisa’s new drama, Buzzer Beat, set to begin airing on the 13th of July.
「Ichibu to Zenbu (イチブトゼンブ)/DIVE」
01. Ichibu to Zenbu (イチブトゼンブ)
02. DIVE
03. National Holiday
ON SALE: 2009.8.5
Catalog Number: BMCV-4009 (1,260 yen)
As was announced earlier,”DIVE” is currently being used as the theme for the Suzuki SWIFT adverts in Japan. As something of a treat for fans, the third beat–“National Holiday”–is the song previously heard at the closing of the ACTION tour shows as the band left the stage.
Lastly, as can be seen in the preview video for “Ichibu to Zenbu” on the official website, world-acclaimed drummer Chad Smith (known for his many years with the Red Hot Chili Peppers) will be featured in some capacity on at least one of the tracks. UPDATE: Juan Alderete, most recognized as bassist from The Mars Volta, provides the bass on the song. This isn’t the first time Alderete has worked with the band, however–he had contributed on the 2007 album, ACTION, as well.
All around, the single definitely seems to be full of rock tunes and should be well worth the money when it comes out in just under two months.

B’z on Stage at Summer Sonic 09
Quite frankly, I knew this was gonna happen. When I checked out the lineup on the Official Summer Sonic 09 Website a week ago, there was a mysterious “SPECIAL GUEST from JAPAN” in the lineup. So yeah, I was thinking “This could only be B’z…”. I speculated a lot, and I wasn’t the only one considering various japanese blogs were speculating as well.
Now we have the confirmation that it is in fact B’z who will rock the stage at Summer Sonic 09, as an update has been posted on the Official B’z Website stating that B’z will perform at Summer Sonic 09.
The Schedule is as follows:
Tokyo: August 8th, Marine Stage
Osaka: August 9th, Ocean Stage

B’z New Single “DIVE”
There have been rumors about B’z New Single going to be called “DIVE” because when the new flash site was uploaded, it contained a 20 second sample. It was immediately deleted thereafter, but a few people were able to check out the filename which was “DIVE_0514”.
Rumors aside, today a new flash video has been added to B’z PARTY’s Official Website. Check it out below. “DIVE” will be featured in the new Suzuki Swift Commercial going on air May 30th.

Tak’s Music on New Stevie Salas album
According to a news update on Stevie Salas’ Official Website, Tak Matsumoto(among others) is participating in Stevie Salas’ new album “Set it on blast”.
I was recording my brand new cd called ‘set it on blast’ right up to 1 hour before I got on the plane to europe to start this tour… Talk about tight!!! This cd is well funky with brian tichy, matt sorum, tm stevens, steve faronne, joey heredia, dorian heartsong, jara slapbak, bernard fowler, dan rothchild, gandhi, tak matsamoto from the bz japan and a few other cool friends.
This is not unusual as Koshi Inaba has been recording some songs with Stevie Salas in the past, too. For example the English version of “Shoumen Shototsu” called “Head on Collision” which is featured on Stevie Salas’ album “Be What It Is”(Amazon.com). Furthermore, Koshi Inaba is featured in Stevie Salas’ essential collection called “the sun and the earth”(Amazon.com). There, he plays the harp on the song “Pumpin’ It Up”.
There has been no word on an overseas release date, but the album will be released in Japan on July 15th, 2009.
